We're fairly new here and the kids are dying to go apple picking once the season starts. Looking for somewhere with u-pick plus stuff for little ones to do. Where do y'all go?
Hillcrest Orchards is the move if you've got kids — petting zoo, pig races, the whole country-fair thing. Can easily kill a whole afternoon there.
R&A Orchards is great too, and their fried pies are dangerous (in a good way). Hillcrest is more of a full day with the animals though.
This is perfect, thank you both! Probably Hillcrest for the kids first. Is it a madhouse during the Apple Festival weekends?
Oh yeah. If you can swing a weekday, or go before the festival weekends in October, you'll thank yourself. 515 and the orchards both get slammed.
